The ak47 pistol mini
draco (7.62x39)
I can admit it, I am influenced by media. I wish I wasn’t
and as such try to avoid as much as I can, but one day I was watching a
woefully ignorant “gun grabber” talking about “ghost guns” and I noticed a
krink on the shelf behind him. I was in love (no, not with the nut job, the
gun) I loved the way it looked and I just had to have one. I found a 7.5 inch
barrel ak47 and thought if I sbr’d it, it would be close enough, so I bought it
and took it home. Later that week I went to the range with it to be sure it
worked (I would hate to submit ATF paperwork on a gun that wouldn’t function)
it ran great, but it was imposable to aim, I thought a stock would fix that and
started the necessary paperwork. In the end I couldn’t justify the $200 tax.
That is a bunch of ammo and every time I got close to putting in the paperwork
to buy the stamp, a sale would come up and I would buy something else. In the
end I was looking at it , and I came to the conclusion that it was a cool
novelty but absolutely useless in every way. What is the point of a gun that is
awkward to aim and hard to shoot and never hits that target. I sold it and
decided an ar15 pistol was somehow a better idea, and that I would buy one
someday.
THE GOOD:
It worked…
THE BAD:
It was too big to hide like a pistol
Too small to shoot like a rifle
It had nowhere to hold when it got hot.
It was impossible to aim
And $200 is a lot of money to bribe permission to make a gun
useable IMHO.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The pistol AK is a fun idea ruined by reality, but I still kind
of want a krink someday. It will be a long while I fear…
